1.

Attend the hearing

Live bodies are more persuasive than letters or comments. Please consider taking the time to come down to the hearing in person. The larger the crowd, the better.

  • Location: County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 310, San Diego, CA 92101
  • Time:  9am start. Arrive early to get your speaker slips in, if you want to talk.
  • Meeting Information: Submit speaker slips to the clerk before the item is discussed. Best to do this when you arrive. (County info on how to attend and give public comment  here.
  • Agenda item #5: document here..e.u.

2.

Call in during the hearing

If you can’t attend, calling into the meeting with a comment is possible and also persuasive. To call in you need to fill out a form on their website. Then tune into the hearing online. When the item is about to be called, call the number and wait to be given time to speak (usually 2 minutes, but can be cut to 1 minute if there are a lot of people.

3.

Make an e-comment (important)

Even if you plan on writing an email or attending in person, writing a short e-comment helps add more support for our cause. Select “support” and then write something along these lines:

“I will only support this if the County implements a moratorium, at the very least on projects that are in or near neighborhoods. These projects don’t belong in or near residential neighborhoods. Our families and neighbors shouldn’t have to deal with potential fires, toxic smoke and evacuations as part of their everyday lives.”

4.

Write an email to the Board

Respectfully ask the Supervisors to consider a pause on projects in or near residential areas. Click on the button for a sample email with all the contact information filled out. Please try to personalize the email by including something about yourself and why you oppose the Seguro project.

Please consider a moratorium on residential projects

please help protect our neighborhoods

Neighborhoods and families shouldn’t be guinea pigs

No sacrifiquen nuestra comunidad para proyectos peligrosos.
